Scrapbook Pages...

Here are the scrapbook pages that I said I had finished. I will be sending the duplicates in to the May SU! contest. This contest was using Designer Series paper on Scrapbook Pages. So, we'll see if I win. I would really like to! If you win, then you get to choose any 3 stamp sets out of the catalog for FREE. So here's hoping!

This page has a photo that I took of Kaitlyn outside with our rose bush just as it had started to bloom. I thought that it turned out really well. I am getting a lot better at taking photos.

I used lots of DS Paper and a bit of glitter. I stamped on the Twill Tape with the Roses in Winter stamp set, and I even used some of the Hodgepodge Hardware that I have been hoarding.

Here is the other page. This one I did of Reilly. These photos were taken about 6 months ago around Christmas. Again LOTS more DS Paper and the Genuine Article stamp set along with some chipboard, Crystal Effects, amd the Polks Dots & Petals stamp set. I really liked the circles with the striped paper. And I even left a little pocket in the DS Paper for the Library Card from the Stamp of Authenticity set. The library card has my journaling on it...

Hope you enjoy these pages, and I am hoping that I win. I will be mailing these off in a week or so. I am going to try to make some things for the other contests also, BUT...I need to finish the Design Team stuff for Convention first. That WILL BE DONE TOMORROW!

There it is in writing now, and posted on the internet. That's it I HAVE to get it done. They need to be mailed off this week. I only have a couple of things to finish, and since we are staying home tomorrow, THEY WILL GET DONE...just wish that I could show you guys...OH WELL...after July 1st when the new catalog is released I will post everything...

So keep checking back...I will try to be better about posting everyday...I promise.

Where has the week gone???

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already, and I haven't posted anything at all this week. I am so Sorry! I started working at a new Temp position on Monday...Tue I wasn't feeling well. I started feeling better once I got home and then on Wednesday when I got to work I started felling really sick again...and then I figured out why....I kept getting this wiff of some awful smell, and I couldn't figure out what it was...then I asked one of the other secretaries, if the person who was here before me smoked...apparently she was a HEAVY smoker. They came over and smelled the fabric in my cubicle and boy did it STINK they said. SO this morning I made sure and took some Febreeze and sprayed my cubicle, the carpet and my chair...I feel so much better today. You see...I have a really hard time with cigarette smoke. It doesn't really bother me when people are actually smoking around me as long as we are outside, but get me cooped up with smokers and I get really nauseous and sick. So today was much better and tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! YEAH!!!

I will be posting those scrapbook pages I pomised ya'll tomorrow afternoon, so check back...I did finally get them done...Now all I have to do is finish my Display Stamper stuff and get it to SU! I am almost done though...of course, I keep saying that...Maybe I'll get them done tomorrow...OR maybe not!! We'll see...

I have new Wall Art...

I didn't do much stamping today...I did do a couple of scrapbook pages, but they still need a lil something, so I will wait to post those until I am completely satisfied with them.

I have been cleaning and straightening up most of they day...I am VERY excited about having the SCS gathering here tomorrow. I have the tables all set up and ready to go. I know that I will have a hard time sleeping tonight...I get excited easily...so I will probably stamp a bit more before I go to bed...or if I go on to bed...I will end up waking up WAY before the crack of dawn and not be able to go back to sleep...so I will come down then and stamp the morning away. Anyway...here is something that I did today. I had been wanting to do it for a while, but as I have said before...I am a last minute kind of gal. I had bought these metal strips at Ikea a month or so ago to put up in my stamp studio, so that I could hang cards around the room like a border...I wanted to be able to change the cards out easily. Well, I got to thinking as I was going to do it today that everytime I wanted to change them out I would have to get out the ladder and move it around. So I nixed that idea and came up with an even better one.

I mounted six strips onto the wall above the dresser that holds all of my stamps. I then took clothespins and added DS paper and magnets. Walaa...Wall Art. I am so tickled with how it turned out. Even Kirk was impressed. So now I can change the cards out and not have to fall off of the ladder and break something. So...here is how it looks...Cool huh. I also have a few of the strips left over, so now I have to figure out where I am gonna put the rest of them...any ideas???

Again...I've been really B-U-S-Y!!!

I have been so busy this week trying to get everything done that needs to be done, BEFORE I start working again next week. Yep...I finally got another job. It is only a temp position, but it is temp to hire, so lets hope they like me! I haven't gotten hardly anything done this week on my Display stuff, I am a bit dissappointed about that, but I still have a couple of weeks to get it done and shipped out. I have it all packed away though for this weekedends SCS Gathering at my house. So if you are in Northern CA, come on up...just bring a drink, a snack, and a shoebox project. You might want to get directions, because Esparto is a tiny little non-existant dot on the map.

Here is the cute...cute...cute little notebook I designed for our Northern CA SCS gathering this weekend. It turned out so darn...did I say it already...CUTE!!! I used the Spiral Punch and punched the top of the cardstok once on each side, and I cut printer paper down to size and punched that also...then I used Hair ponies (I got them in different Bold Bright colors) to keep the little book together. I was going to use notebook paper for the inside so I needed to make the book smaller than a 1/4 sheet of c'stk. But in the end I decided to use printer paper. Now I wish that I hadn't precut the fronts & backs for my shoebox project and the printer paper too. It would have been so much less cutting if they had been 1/4 sheets...Oh Well, next time. I attached the ribbon to the ponies to cover the silver piece that keeps the cord together. I even wheeled the printer paper inside to match. Don't you want to come and make one? It is even cuter in real life!

Well...now I guess I better go and get the ATCs designed for our ATC swap so I can actually get them made...I know...I know...I am a last minute kinda gal...

Sorry...I didn't post yesterday!

I am having a really hard time finding things to post. I am hard at work creating NEW things for the Convention Display boards, and I really don't want to put "OLD" stuff that I did a while ago onto here. I want to show ya'll the latest and greatest, but I guess that will have to wait until after convention. So...I am sorry that nothing new went up yesterdaay, but I did finish a scrapbook layout of Kaitlyn and a card. I am almost done with what I need to make...then I will start posting current creations again. I am hoping to have everything in the mail on Mon or Tue. I was aiming for Friday, but I don't think that's going to happen.

So here is a card that I made a few weeks ago. I am really liking to make the long cards that fit into SU!s Large Open end envelopes. And of couse this card is super easy with all of the patterned paper.

On a side note...I didn't have everything I needed at the crop on Saturday, and I feel like I didn't get a lot done. I finished one layout...not even for me...for the Travis AFB Enlisted Spouses Club. I am the Sunshine Chairperson. Which means I get to send all the cards and keep up with the clubs scrapbook. We had gone bowling last month for our Social and had a great time...I took so many pictures. I also did a 6x6 layout of the same event for our President's album. I started on a layout about...ME...but that didn't get finished. I also started on a Things I Love album in one of the 5x5 Art journals that I ordered from the Spring Mini. But again...it is NO WHERE near done. So I will wait to show you guys...So all in all...I started a few projects, but didn't get much completed. I guess that is how things go... You make all those plans, or in my case a list of Things to do...and only half of the items get marked off...

Now that I have uploaded this today...I am gonna go mark it off my list of things to do...

Do you think I have everything????

I am going to a crop tomorrow from 9am-11pm. Do you think that I have everything I will need?

I sure hope so, BUT I know that once I'm there I will be starting on a project and I will want SOMETHING that is at home. It never fails. Even when i do a workshop...I always announce at the beginning, that I have forgotten at least one item at home, and I will let them know when I figure out what the item is...

It was REALLY nice when we were stationed in Iceland...The Communty Center on the base was once building over from our apartment...SO I would just call the house and have one of the kids bring me whatever I needed. It was so nice...

The crop I am going to tomorrow is about a 30 minute drive or so from home. So I won't be able to just call the kids and say...Bring me...whatever it was I wanted. So I try to pack for every instance that I might NEED that one thing... Hopefully I will have everything that I need...The box at the bottom of the photo is STUFF I want to get rid of, so hopefully a lot of that will not come home with me.

Monogram Aplahabet Letters...

I was HARD at work yesterday...slaving over a project. I altered a shadow box frame that I had found at a Thrift Store. I had actually found two frames, and I KNEW what I was going to do with them. I made the smaller one for the SU! Artisan Award contest, and the big one was for me. Well...I finally got mine done yesterday. It turned out SO CUTE. I just wish that I could post it for everyone to see...but as per the rules of the contest....

By submitting an entry, demonstrator agrees that the work, ideas, concepts, and all rights (including but not limited to moral rights and intellectual property) in and to the works become the sole property of Stampin' Up!

I even called Demonstrator Support and confirmed, that I can show it in person, but I CAN NOT post photos of it...It turned out EVEN BETTER than the one that I sent to SU...
So I will post something else...

I saw on Splitcoast a thread that had been reserrected from last year about the Monogram alphabet, and people were wondering what do you do with them...Well, when SU! had the Background Special last May I took the oppurtunity to order the Monogram Letters that I wanted. Have I stamped with them? Maybe once or twice, but that is NOT what I bought them for...I bought them for decoration...I just had to have the T-W-I-L-A...They are sitting on a shelf above my printer with some of my other personalized stamps...I always know where they are that way...See aren't they cute...

Here they are...Au Chocolate in different colors...

So here they are...Aren't they cute! Well, now that that's done...off I go, Back to the Grindstone. I gotta finish those Display Samples for Convention, so I can play with other stuff...Can't wait to post some of these things I have been making. Maybe I will stamp a bit for myself later as a reward for "working"!!

YEAH!!! A Comment...and a question...

YEAH!! I finally got the comments working and I actually got one today,..I'm easy to please sometimes... And she also asked a question...How did you get the Au Chocolate Paper pink...I use my brayer. As soon as I saw the preview for the Spring Mini and that paper...I knew that I wanted it to be all different colors...Pretty in Pink and Brown...Cool Caribbean and Brown, Certainly Celery and Brown, So Saffron and Brown...you get the drift. So, as soon as my preorder had arrived I tore into that paper and made some cards...the same card, just using different colors to brayer the Au Chocolate Paper...I will upload a set of these cards in the morning... I would do it tonight, BUT...

I am REALLY tired...I didn't get to sleep until way after 1:00am last night and I got up before 5:00. I have been gone from the house all day. I did spend a bit of time shopping. I need all new clothes. I have lost so much weight over the last few months that my closet is pitiful. Of course shopping is a side effect...a good one, but boy am I tired...So like I said I will post those cards in the morning...I'm off to bed...

New Cards...

I had to take a break from stamping for Convention Displays to design cards for my workshop tomorrow night...and it's getting late, so I am just going to post these quickly and then off to bed I go...Enjoy...

YEAH!!! I got it to work

FINALLY!!! A BIG THANK YOU goes out to stampersharon on SCS who helped me through figuring out this comment thing. It is finally working. Now to go and finish my cards for my workshop tomorrow so I can post them before I go to bed tonight...I am really hoping to have some great comments in the morning when I get up...SO back to stamping I go...

ARGHHHHHHHH!!

I am getting SO frustrated with this comment thing...I can't get it to work

I'm trying again...

Okay let's see if anyone can leave a comment now...

Nope...NOT YET!!

I have no clue what is wrong...so if one of you blog savvy people who know how this is done could e-mail me and help me figure this out I would LOVE you forever...

My e-mail address is

twilamooneyham@hotmail.com

THANKS

Let see if I have this figured out now...

I have been trying all day to get the comments working on this blog, but the solution is eluding me. So I kept going back for help...reading and rereading to see WHAT I was missing. Well...it seems that once you enable comments they are only avaliable on posts posted AFTER you enabled them...so lets see if you can leave a comment now...

I keep checking my counter...

What can I say, I keep checking my blog to see if the counter has gotten any higher...I think most of the counts are me checking in to see if anything has changed since the last time I checked it 5 minutes ago...it's funny how when I make or design something...all I want is feedback and lots of it apparently! So I thought that today I would add the items that I sent to Stampin Up! that got me chosen for the Convention Design Team. I just thought that ya'll might like to see them and of course I want lots and lots of feedback...come on tell me how great I am...just kidding.

I know that a lot of people on SCS (splitcoaststampers.com) entered this contest and were not chosen...and no one really knows what SU! wanted to see. I know from past experience ( I have entered this contest for the last three or four years and never got picked) that it wasn't what I normally did. Usually I go to the extreme...I have a problem with simple. A lot of times simple just doesn't seem quite finished to me so I add more stuff, until it looks complete.
This year I did things a little differently. I went simple...and I used one main stamp set and only a few accessories on each project. I think that the items I did turned out so well...and I guess SU! thought so too...cause this was my year. Now lets just hope that they think the same thing with my entries for the SU! Artisan Award that I sent in a couple of weeks ago. Now that is one prize that I REALLY want...$500 cash and $500 in Stampin' Up! product...BUT the best part is that you get to meet with the Stampin' Up! in house Design Team...that is what I really want to do. Meet all the people who get to touch and play with stamps ALL DAY and get paid for it...what a life that would be...
I know as an SU! demo that I do get a bit of that...but to actually get paid to sit and design cards/scrapbook pages and 3-d items all day then go home...A DREAM JOB. I just wish that I could get Kirk to want to move to Utah. I have suggested it before, just so I could work for SU!...but we will be going back to Texas when he retires. I am looking forward to that move...I havn't lived in Texas since I left for basic training in 1990...we tell the kids the kids they are from Texas even though they have never lived there...that whole you are an American if you are born to an American...well in our house you're a Texan if you are born to Texans...so since Kirk and I are both from Texas...so are the kids...well I guess that's enough rambling for now...I know that you want to see the goods, so here they are. My entries for the Convention Display Stamper Contest...be nice...

This 8 1/2 x 11 Scrapbook page is of my oldest daughter Kaitlyn...

This is a long card for our large open end envelopes.

I actually made this card from an ATC swap card that I had laying around. I just mounted it onto a card and then added a bit...

I really tried to use all kinds of embellishments that we carry different ones for each item...I used chipboard on this card.

This is a 6 x 6 scrapbook page that I did of my son Reilly...Last summer when I made my wooden photo blocks he sanded them down for me. Of course this was his first time using power tools so I HAD to take pictures. He even used his safety goggles...There is another photo that pulls out from behind the main one when you pull on the pliers...It is a photo of him actually sanding the wooden photo blocks...

My VERY FIRST Post...

Well...here goes. This is my VERY FIRST post on my new blog. I have been reading blogs for a few months now, and I really enjoy them. They have become a main part of my day. It's like taking a peek into everyone's lives, and of course I tend to view the stamping and scrapbooking related blogs more than any others, so I thought that I would finally start my own... So here it is.

Keep in mind that it is a WORK IN PROGRESS, so I am sure that I will get better and things will get tweaked, as time goes on. I am going to try and keep it updated EVERY day, but if I don't get here for a few days, please forgive me. I am posting my a card today that I recently made for a swap. I really like the Tiny Talk stamp set which the saying "You make me smile" is from it's one I use often. I was very sad to learn that this set will be discontinued when the NEW SU! catalog comes out in July...so if you want it, then give me a call and get it ordered while it is on sale this month...
