Pre-View Order...I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I will be placing my 2007 Fall/Winter Collection Preview order BRIGHT & EARLY tomorrow morning. I WANT new stuff to play with. Hopefully if will be here by Tuesday so that I can start playing right away...but until then you will just have to be satisfied with more Unfrogettable cards. Here is another one that doesn't have frogs on it...I was trying to use of some of my DS Paper that I think will be retiring...I didn't use as much as I started out to...I think that the little snail needed simplicity...But she also needed sparkle...So I added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter...So CUTE!

I am also starting to send out monthly newsletters...you can sign up to receive these...somewhere over on the right...under the About Me section. So go and do that...NOW!!! Anyway...keep checking your e-mail...as it will be going out this weekend...

Question and Answer Time...

Sandy sent me some great questions...and I had a hard time answering some of them...Here are a few...

What has been your “ALL TIME FAVORITE” set that SU has had – even if retired?

Stella Stamper…I LOVE this set. I didn’t buy it when it was originally in the catalog and I always regretted it, so when SU! Had their 15th anniversary and they brought back one retired set every month for a year…and she showed up…I BOUGHT HER!!! I don’t think that I have EVER used it…well, maybe once or twice…but I love looking at it! I think that I should get her out and put her on the shelf beside my Monogram Alphabet name…I will post photos soon...

What is your absolutely favorite set that isn’t retiring and current in the catty?

Stamp of Authenticity! I really like this set…although I seem to have a hard time using it sometimes, as I feel it is a set that has to “GO” with other sets…but I HAD to have it when it came out last year!

What is you favorite SU color or the color that you seem drawn to use the most?

My favorite color is REAL RED…I LOVE RED…my kitchen is red…my stamp room is red…I think that almost every room in the house has a bit of red in it somewhere…but I don’t use it that often in my crafting. There are so many other SU! colors to choose from. I tend to change what colors are my favorite depending on the season, my mood and what stamp set I am using. In Jan / Feb my favorite color to use was Apricot Appeal, then in March / April it was Rose Red…now I seem to be on a Certainly Celery kick…next month…WHO KNOWS???

That's all the questions for today...I will have more tomorrow...Keep 'em coming. It really gives me something to talk about.

Also...here is another card made with that Unfrogettable stamp set...I chose not to use the frogs on this one...and also to use some really bright colors...this one was the favorite of my family out of all the ones I made this last weekend...they LOVED the colors. Hope you do too!!

You're Unfrogettable...

Another Unfrogettable card...I think this is my new favorite set...Although that will probably change next week when I get some of the stamps from the Preview Brochure. I had so much fun yesterday stamping with this stamp set. I made 4 or 5 differnt cards. I will upload them throughout the week...This one is a long card 4"x 9 3/8". It is made to fit oSU!s Large Open End Envelopes. It is such a fun size. The only problem that I have with making these is that it takes almost a whole sheet of cardstock, so I can't really demo these at workshops. Oh well...It is cute!!

Check out my new watermark...I made it all by myself...I think it turned out pretty darn good...For my first one...Also did you see my new banner at the top. I made that also...I thnk I am getting the hang of that Adobe program...

As some of ya'll know I have a hard time remembering to post...I am getting better though...so to help me out with what to say...How about some questions...Does anyone have a question that they would like to ask? If so...Just leave it in a comment. It would help me out tremendously with what to talk about...now enough rambling...More tomorrow...

I did stamp a bit today...

...BUT I haven't gotten that much done. I did make one card that I really like. I got a new stamp set last week. Unfrogettable...I have been wanting it for a while, but I had just never purchased it...so when I had a workshop order last week I finally wrote down the number and ordered it. It is so cute. This is what I did with it today.

I used some Glossy paper and the Crayon Resist technique. I colored the frog and heart with markers then colored over that with the white crayon. Then took my Cool Caribbean ink pad and used it directly onto the Glossy Cardstock. Then you buff off the excess ink that doesn't get absorbed by the white crayon and waaalaaa...

I also added Crystal Effect onto the eyes of the frog to make him a bit more frog like, but you can't tell that very well (if at all) from the scan. Well...that's all for today, hopefully I will have more cards for you tomorrow.

I am so excited about how my counter is going...up...up...up!!! Soon I will have to do some blog candy. How about when we hit 2000...lets see how long that will take...one week...maybe...I don't really know, but we'll see...the numbers are clicking by really fast these days...so it may be way less than that...So keep checking back...

Something Old...

Ya'll said that showing OLD would be okay so here is something OLD.

This CD case is something that I made last year, for my daughter, when my husband deployed...AGAIN. I took photos of him the morning he left and she wanted one in her room. So I made this from a slim CD case that was laying around. She LOVED it, and still has it hanging up over a year later. I used the Spring Flowers DS Paper and the Looks Like Spring Stamp set. I know that it is a photo of my husband, but I used a lot of Chocolate Chip and Mellow Moss to offset the Pretty In Pink. I even used some manly HodgePodge Hardware...and a bit of ribbon. The DS Paper and the Photo are on the inside of the case and the HH and the Flower are on the outside...so it is a bit 3-D. I even used some Microbeads. I love those things. I just wish they wouldn't bounce around so much. They get EVERYWHERE even if you are using the Powder Pals. So...they bounce everywhere, but I really like the look of them so I keep using them up and having to order more. I am hoping to have them in different colors in the new catalog...

Putting a face to a name...

Well...I have gotten so many hits since yesterday...almost 300. Thanks Sandy...I really apprecaite you getting the word out about my blog. So I thought that ya'll might want to put a face to a name. I know I like to do that...So here is a current photo of me...It was taken a few weeks ago. Keep checking back I will post more cards tomorrow...

I am a Stamp-A-Holic...It's been 12 days since my last post.

I am sooo sorry...I seem to have fallen off the posting wagon. Where does the time go...I'm tellin' ya'll...I need reminders...so E-mail me everyday if you want to see new stuff...Cause if I don't hear from ya'll then I think that no one is lookin' and I can skip a day or two or twelve...So...Today I got an e-mail from Sandy...thanks...I am now updating...

Here are some of the cards that I have been working on. I lost so many sets on the retiring list that I don't have that many left. Heartfelt Thanks is one of only a VERY few that I have left that I can use by itself...Most of what I have left is mainly stamps that need to be used with other sets...Accessory Sets like A to Z Accents, Word Sets, Backgrounds and Alphabets. So I am very limited in what stamps I have to use...it's very frustrating. BUT...I am entering all the SU! Contests that I can...hoping for FREE rubber. I need some more FREE stamps!!! I love FREE...who doesn't.

I can't wait to order from the NEW Preview Catalog...I even get $100.00 of stamps for FREE. I am finally going to use my $100.00 Product bonus that I received in December when I promoted to Senior Supervisor. I have saved it all this time so I could use it on NEW STUFF!!! So that will be NEXT WEEK!!! If you haven't seen the new Preview Brochure for the Fall/Winter Collection, drop me a e-mail and I will send you the link. I haven't figured out how to post it here yet...

So now after all my rambling...are you ready to see cards? I'm sure you are so here they are...Three of them using Heartfelt Thanks...Hope you like them...If you have any question about how they were made...Just send me an e-mail and ask...I will gladly answer...Enjoy!

Next Creation...

Here is a card that I made from an ATC that I had designed for the Splitcoast Gathering that was at my house a few weeks ago. I brayered the Au Chocolate paper with So Saffron on the ATC and then left the paper alone on the Card base. I used the Spiral Punch and tied the ribbon around and through the Punches. I even masked the Label Classics stamp and stamped inside with the flowers from Just Because. I then outlined the flowers with Markers and watercolored inside them...

I think it turned out really cute...Hope you like it...

Okay...Here it is...

I haven't posted in a while, 'cause I've been busy working on stuff to post here. I was working on things for so long for Convention, that I didn't have time to stamp anything else. So now that that is over and everything has been sent off, I have time to stamp for myself...well for ya'll really. So here are the first of many cards that I have been making. There are more to come, so keep checking back.

This card turned out so cute! I used the Craft Stampin' Spots to stamp on the Choc. Chip cardstock. I wanted the flowers to be Cameo Coral, like the card base...then I used the White Craft pad to stamp the highlights over the flowers. I used two different punches to make the market tag. I am sending this in to the May contest...Hopefully I will win this one...I could REALLY use some new rubber. I lost 80 stamps sets out of my collection of 132. So I NEED that NEW Rubber...so let's hope I have a WINNER for at least one of the contests that I'm entering this month...

Now that I'm DONE!!!

Now that I'm done with the stuff for the Convention Design Team, it all has to be mailed off. SO, I had no time over the weekend to stamp anything new, so I am recycling some stuff that ya'll haven't seen...

No long post today, I am running out the door to go to work...I'll post again soon...So keep checking back!

Scrapbook Pages...

Here are the scrapbook pages that I said I had finished. I will be sending the duplicates in to the May SU! contest. This contest was using Designer Series paper on Scrapbook Pages. So, we'll see if I win. I would really like to! If you win, then you get to choose any 3 stamp sets out of the catalog for FREE. So here's hoping!

This page has a photo that I took of Kaitlyn outside with our rose bush just as it had started to bloom. I thought that it turned out really well. I am getting a lot better at taking photos.

I used lots of DS Paper and a bit of glitter. I stamped on the Twill Tape with the Roses in Winter stamp set, and I even used some of the Hodgepodge Hardware that I have been hoarding.

Here is the other page. This one I did of Reilly. These photos were taken about 6 months ago around Christmas. Again LOTS more DS Paper and the Genuine Article stamp set along with some chipboard, Crystal Effects, amd the Polks Dots & Petals stamp set. I really liked the circles with the striped paper. And I even left a little pocket in the DS Paper for the Library Card from the Stamp of Authenticity set. The library card has my journaling on it...

Hope you enjoy these pages, and I am hoping that I win. I will be mailing these off in a week or so. I am going to try to make some things for the other contests also, BUT...I need to finish the Design Team stuff for Convention first. That WILL BE DONE TOMORROW!

There it is in writing now, and posted on the internet. That's it I HAVE to get it done. They need to be mailed off this week. I only have a couple of things to finish, and since we are staying home tomorrow, THEY WILL GET DONE...just wish that I could show you guys...OH WELL...after July 1st when the new catalog is released I will post everything...

So keep checking back...I will try to be better about posting everyday...I promise.

Where has the week gone???

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already, and I haven't posted anything at all this week. I am so Sorry! I started working at a new Temp position on Monday...Tue I wasn't feeling well. I started feeling better once I got home and then on Wednesday when I got to work I started felling really sick again...and then I figured out why....I kept getting this wiff of some awful smell, and I couldn't figure out what it was...then I asked one of the other secretaries, if the person who was here before me smoked...apparently she was a HEAVY smoker. They came over and smelled the fabric in my cubicle and boy did it STINK they said. SO this morning I made sure and took some Febreeze and sprayed my cubicle, the carpet and my chair...I feel so much better today. You see...I have a really hard time with cigarette smoke. It doesn't really bother me when people are actually smoking around me as long as we are outside, but get me cooped up with smokers and I get really nauseous and sick. So today was much better and tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! YEAH!!!

I will be posting those scrapbook pages I pomised ya'll tomorrow afternoon, so check back...I did finally get them done...Now all I have to do is finish my Display Stamper stuff and get it to SU! I am almost done though...of course, I keep saying that...Maybe I'll get them done tomorrow...OR maybe not!! We'll see...

I have new Wall Art...

I didn't do much stamping today...I did do a couple of scrapbook pages, but they still need a lil something, so I will wait to post those until I am completely satisfied with them.

I have been cleaning and straightening up most of they day...I am VERY excited about having the SCS gathering here tomorrow. I have the tables all set up and ready to go. I know that I will have a hard time sleeping tonight...I get excited easily...so I will probably stamp a bit more before I go to bed...or if I go on to bed...I will end up waking up WAY before the crack of dawn and not be able to go back to sleep...so I will come down then and stamp the morning away. Anyway...here is something that I did today. I had been wanting to do it for a while, but as I have said before...I am a last minute kind of gal. I had bought these metal strips at Ikea a month or so ago to put up in my stamp studio, so that I could hang cards around the room like a border...I wanted to be able to change the cards out easily. Well, I got to thinking as I was going to do it today that everytime I wanted to change them out I would have to get out the ladder and move it around. So I nixed that idea and came up with an even better one.

I mounted six strips onto the wall above the dresser that holds all of my stamps. I then took clothespins and added DS paper and magnets. Walaa...Wall Art. I am so tickled with how it turned out. Even Kirk was impressed. So now I can change the cards out and not have to fall off of the ladder and break something. So...here is how it looks...Cool huh. I also have a few of the strips left over, so now I have to figure out where I am gonna put the rest of them...any ideas???

Again...I've been really B-U-S-Y!!!

I have been so busy this week trying to get everything done that needs to be done, BEFORE I start working again next week. Yep...I finally got another job. It is only a temp position, but it is temp to hire, so lets hope they like me! I haven't gotten hardly anything done this week on my Display stuff, I am a bit dissappointed about that, but I still have a couple of weeks to get it done and shipped out. I have it all packed away though for this weekedends SCS Gathering at my house. So if you are in Northern CA, come on up...just bring a drink, a snack, and a shoebox project. You might want to get directions, because Esparto is a tiny little non-existant dot on the map.

Here is the cute...cute...cute little notebook I designed for our Northern CA SCS gathering this weekend. It turned out so darn...did I say it already...CUTE!!! I used the Spiral Punch and punched the top of the cardstok once on each side, and I cut printer paper down to size and punched that also...then I used Hair ponies (I got them in different Bold Bright colors) to keep the little book together. I was going to use notebook paper for the inside so I needed to make the book smaller than a 1/4 sheet of c'stk. But in the end I decided to use printer paper. Now I wish that I hadn't precut the fronts & backs for my shoebox project and the printer paper too. It would have been so much less cutting if they had been 1/4 sheets...Oh Well, next time. I attached the ribbon to the ponies to cover the silver piece that keeps the cord together. I even wheeled the printer paper inside to match. Don't you want to come and make one? It is even cuter in real life!

Well...now I guess I better go and get the ATCs designed for our ATC swap so I can actually get them made...I know...I know...I am a last minute kinda gal...

Sorry...I didn't post yesterday!

I am having a really hard time finding things to post. I am hard at work creating NEW things for the Convention Display boards, and I really don't want to put "OLD" stuff that I did a while ago onto here. I want to show ya'll the latest and greatest, but I guess that will have to wait until after convention. So...I am sorry that nothing new went up yesterdaay, but I did finish a scrapbook layout of Kaitlyn and a card. I am almost done with what I need to make...then I will start posting current creations again. I am hoping to have everything in the mail on Mon or Tue. I was aiming for Friday, but I don't think that's going to happen.

So here is a card that I made a few weeks ago. I am really liking to make the long cards that fit into SU!s Large Open end envelopes. And of couse this card is super easy with all of the patterned paper.

On a side note...I didn't have everything I needed at the crop on Saturday, and I feel like I didn't get a lot done. I finished one layout...not even for me...for the Travis AFB Enlisted Spouses Club. I am the Sunshine Chairperson. Which means I get to send all the cards and keep up with the clubs scrapbook. We had gone bowling last month for our Social and had a great time...I took so many pictures. I also did a 6x6 layout of the same event for our President's album. I started on a layout about...ME...but that didn't get finished. I also started on a Things I Love album in one of the 5x5 Art journals that I ordered from the Spring Mini. But again...it is NO WHERE near done. So I will wait to show you guys...So all in all...I started a few projects, but didn't get much completed. I guess that is how things go... You make all those plans, or in my case a list of Things to do...and only half of the items get marked off...

Now that I have uploaded this today...I am gonna go mark it off my list of things to do...

Do you think I have everything????

I am going to a crop tomorrow from 9am-11pm. Do you think that I have everything I will need?

I sure hope so, BUT I know that once I'm there I will be starting on a project and I will want SOMETHING that is at home. It never fails. Even when i do a workshop...I always announce at the beginning, that I have forgotten at least one item at home, and I will let them know when I figure out what the item is...

It was REALLY nice when we were stationed in Iceland...The Communty Center on the base was once building over from our apartment...SO I would just call the house and have one of the kids bring me whatever I needed. It was so nice...

The crop I am going to tomorrow is about a 30 minute drive or so from home. So I won't be able to just call the kids and say...Bring me...whatever it was I wanted. So I try to pack for every instance that I might NEED that one thing... Hopefully I will have everything that I need...The box at the bottom of the photo is STUFF I want to get rid of, so hopefully a lot of that will not come home with me.

Monogram Aplahabet Letters...

I was HARD at work yesterday...slaving over a project. I altered a shadow box frame that I had found at a Thrift Store. I had actually found two frames, and I KNEW what I was going to do with them. I made the smaller one for the SU! Artisan Award contest, and the big one was for me. Well...I finally got mine done yesterday. It turned out SO CUTE. I just wish that I could post it for everyone to see...but as per the rules of the contest....

By submitting an entry, demonstrator agrees that the work, ideas, concepts, and all rights (including but not limited to moral rights and intellectual property) in and to the works become the sole property of Stampin' Up!

I even called Demonstrator Support and confirmed, that I can show it in person, but I CAN NOT post photos of it...It turned out EVEN BETTER than the one that I sent to SU...
So I will post something else...

I saw on Splitcoast a thread that had been reserrected from last year about the Monogram alphabet, and people were wondering what do you do with them...Well, when SU! had the Background Special last May I took the oppurtunity to order the Monogram Letters that I wanted. Have I stamped with them? Maybe once or twice, but that is NOT what I bought them for...I bought them for decoration...I just had to have the T-W-I-L-A...They are sitting on a shelf above my printer with some of my other personalized stamps...I always know where they are that way...See aren't they cute...

Here they are...Au Chocolate in different colors...

So here they are...Aren't they cute! Well, now that that's done...off I go, Back to the Grindstone. I gotta finish those Display Samples for Convention, so I can play with other stuff...Can't wait to post some of these things I have been making. Maybe I will stamp a bit for myself later as a reward for "working"!!

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

YEAH!!! A Comment...and a question...

YEAH!! I finally got the comments working and I actually got one today,..I'm easy to please sometimes... And she also asked a question...How did you get the Au Chocolate Paper pink...I use my brayer. As soon as I saw the preview for the Spring Mini and that paper...I knew that I wanted it to be all different colors...Pretty in Pink and Brown...Cool Caribbean and Brown, Certainly Celery and Brown, So Saffron and Brown...you get the drift. So, as soon as my preorder had arrived I tore into that paper and made some cards...the same card, just using different colors to brayer the Au Chocolate Paper...I will upload a set of these cards in the morning... I would do it tonight, BUT...

I am REALLY tired...I didn't get to sleep until way after 1:00am last night and I got up before 5:00. I have been gone from the house all day. I did spend a bit of time shopping. I need all new clothes. I have lost so much weight over the last few months that my closet is pitiful. Of course shopping is a side effect...a good one, but boy am I tired...So like I said I will post those cards in the morning...I'm off to bed...

New Cards...

I had to take a break from stamping for Convention Displays to design cards for my workshop tomorrow night...and it's getting late, so I am just going to post these quickly and then off to bed I go...Enjoy...
